It began by a running conversation between 2 ad agencies in Lower Manhattan high rises. A year later, it ended up being the battle of a new found street art. Employees of Havas Media simply put a “Hi” message in their window with Post-It notes and their neighbors across this NYC street, Horizon Media, answered. Today, thousands of colorful post-it notes can be seen in the windows on Canal Street creating the likes of Batman, Spiderman, the Apple logo, a rainbow, the Madmen logo and Angry Birds.
But their landlords don’t seem to have a sense of humor or an appreciation of the abstract art form. All post-it note art will be coming down at the end of this month, May 2016.
