spicy blackberry margaritaMake these Spicy Blackberry Margaritas for a crowd. Tequila, blackberry brandy, green chiles, fresh fruit, agave, orange juice, and lime. Rimmed with chili salt. I love to get creative with margaritas, I simply cannot get enough of a well-done marg recipe. Just the right amount of spice and a vibrant and pretty color. Love at first sip.

Prep time: 10 mins

Total time: 10 mins

Serves: 4-6

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups fresh blackberries

1 (4.5 ounce) can chopped Old El Paso green chiles

1 cup lime fresh juice

3 ounces (2 shots) blackberry brandy

2 1/2 cups orange juice

3/4 cup good quality tequila

3 tablespoons agave nectar (or more to taste)

Coarse sea salt (or salt flakes) and chili powder to rim

Blackberries and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions:

Place the lime juice, blackberries, and green chiles in a small bowl.

Using a muddler or immersion blender, muddle/blend until fully combined. The smoother the better.

Pour the blackberry mixture through a fine mesh strainer and remove the seeds. For me, the mixture was relatively thick so I pressed it through using a spoon to get all the juice out.

Pour the juice into a pitcher, followed by the blackberry brandy, orange juice, tequila and agave. Stir to fully combine.

Combine sea salt and chili powder (equal parts) on a plate. Dip the rim of each glass in water or lime juice and then submerge in the salt/chili mixture.

Fill each glass with ice and then pour in the margaritas. Garnish with blackberries and lime wedges.
